Fashion Eye Candy: James Franco

So I was watching Saturday Night Live and low and behold inspiration smacked me in the face. And Inspiration came as the lovely manly form of the host, James Franco. As Most Of you trendy folks know, James Franco is the new face of Gucci's cologne for men. And boy oh boy does he look fantastic doing it. There were so many pictures to choose from and i still don't feel like i have enough! If you want to know more about him feel free to google. if not just gaze at these beautiful pictures ;)!

Fashion Icon of The Month

Okay so I am Mucho late because I just forgot to do it (damn you personal secretary!). But Decembers Fashion Icon is someone really close to my heart. She's witty, Funny, fashionable (duh!), and British. If you were thinking "hmmm that sounds alot like Alexa Chung, from 'Its On With Alexa Chung" DING DING DING! You are the Winner ( sorry you don't get anything though). She's a huge hit in both American and England fashion circles. Make sure you catch her talk show on MTV "its on with Alexa Chung!". Style On Alexa Style On!

Out with the old IN with the new!

Well folks we are at the cuffs of a brand new year and DECADE! Can you believe that? WOW time has sprinted past us. I think this year was pretty shocking, and things we did not expect to come back ever came back this year i.e leggings and shoulder pads. Yahoo.com did a Worst trends of 2009. Let me know If you agree with this list or not. I for one happen to rock leggings and everything else from American Apparel! Let me know!

1. Harem Pants: Who had the wise idea to bring these ridiculously shaped pants back? Looking Aladdin-chic lasted about a hot second.

2. Carrie Bradshaw's Flower: It would be easy enough to blame "SATC" for just about every girly trend over the past dozen years, but the most famous one had to be the appearance of Carrie's giant flower accessories, starting in 2000 (Season 3). Did anyone actually manage to pull off this look? We're talking about real people.

3. Hobo-Chic: Mary-Kate Olsen pioneered the homeless haute couture getup around 2006, during her brief stint at NYU. All you have to do is roll out of bed, throw on a cloak, and add some Louboutin heels to the mix.

4. Leggings As Pants: The trouble can all be traced to Lindsay Lohan, who jumped on this trend with a leggings line at a time when people still retained some ounce of curiosity in her. It then got out of control and produced all sorts of crazy offshoots—Tron-inspired leggings, sequin-adorned, "jeggings." The worst offenders, of course, were those who took things a step further with hosiery. Tights are not pants, people!

5. Expensive-As-Hell Destroyed Denim: At what point did it ever make sense to drop hundreds of dollars on a pair of jeans that already look like they're 10 years old?

6. Uggs: Once these boots became adopted by Jersey girls, Paris Hilton, and the "Laguna Beach" set, Uggs went from trendy to just plain Ugg-ly.

7. The Juicy Tracksuit: Reaching its height in popularity around 2003, the Juicy Couture tracksuit now serves as the base of many Halloween costumes.

8. Visible Thongs: Thank you, Britney Spears, for starting this awful trend. Now teenage girls think it's hip to let their thongs hang out of their lower-than-low-cut jeans.

9. '80s Re-Revival: How many times will we hear "the '80s are back"? Just stop trying to make legwarmers and neon happen again. Please. For some reason celebs like Rihanna and designers like Marc Jacobs just can't give up metallic fabrics, shoulder pads, and crazy hair. Once it trickled down into the mainstream, the racks at Forever 21 and Topshop looked like the wardrobe for "Flashdance," and people joined in on the ironic fun with fanny packs and, worse yet, the Cap-Sac.

10. Jersey Everything: We blame Lauren Conrad for the diarrhea of draped jersey everywhere in 2007 and 2008.

11. "Ironic" Hipster Fashions: Granny glasses, mustaches, acid-wash jeans, plaid, Arab scarves, and pretty much anything American Apparel ever produced since 2000.

Okie Dokie Folks Here it is. This list was a little harsh, Tell me what you like. Tell me what you don't! Happy New Years!

Model Behavior: Abbey Kershaw

Hailing from down under, 20 year old Abbey Lee Kershaw, got her big break after winning the 2004 Girlfriend Model Search. She does so much ads and editorial and i find her really street and fresh! [http://models.com/models/Abbey-Lee-Kershaw}]

Fun Funky Fresh

Today i was watching me some Fresh Prince of Bel-Air with my sister. Once again classics, classics, CLASSICS! And the fresh prince is a classic late 80s through 90s. Aka the Golden age of Rap. Which also came with the crazy overalls, shoulder pads, gold earrings, baggy pants, and the box-n-fade hair cut(rofl). Although I wasn't alive at the time, this age is fantastic! Once again its all about SELF EXPRESSION! Artist like The fresh prince, Mary J. Blige, SaltNPeppa, Doug E Fresh, Slick Rick, etc. made this era a fun funky and most definitely Fresh

Hello my little Lovers!!!!!!!

You guys probably noticed that my blog has officially changed its' name from Pop goes the Culture to Designed Dreams. I was reading an article in a Paper about Fashion, and how some people find it unnecessary and supercilious. I think that's a BUTT LOAD of crap, but in that article there was a Quote from Ralph Lauren “I don't design clothes, I design dreams.” This statement describes EXACTLY how I feel about fashion. And that's why I changed my blog name <3.

Model Behavior: Matt Loewen

Jungle Gym. That's the firs t and only thing I think of when I look upon the profile of 24 year old Canadian Matt Loewen. "Why?" you might ask "Why would you think of a Jungle gym?" Well i am glad you asked. I would like to use his body AS a jungle gym. He's the type of guy who you just want to tumble around with(lol). He has done many different campaigns and gives a kind of manly sexy vibe to the runway. Plus look at that Tattoo! Leather and a motorcycle shoulf come included with this one (oh and me ;)
